Sound Antennae - 2011

One week assignment in collaboration with Stian Korntved Ruud

The Sound Antenna consists of a hood with an antenna attached. It uses an accelerometer and when the user tilts his/hers head the pitch of the sound will change. A forward tilt lowers the pitch and a backwards tilt gives you a higher pitch. Keeping your antenna at eye level will give you no alteration of the sound.

The Sound Antenna can be used for exhibitions and by museums to explore communication and sound. It is intended to be used in groups and there will be a range of sizes both for kids and adults.

The hood impairs the users vision, forcing the user to focus more on the audible experience.
